I’m Vivienne, a Bristol based therapist

However you are feeling, whatever your struggle is, I can offer a space that feels safe for you to talk.

I offer a free initial 30 minute meeting to help you decide if you want to begin working together.

My approach

I have a friendly, gentle and conscientious approach. I understand that it can be difficult to speak about very personal thoughts and feelings and I create a space that feels safe to do this. A space where you will not feel judged and are able to be yourself. To me, it’s important to have this kind of safety to help us work through what might be going on for you.

You might be clear about what you want to talk about, or you might not be too sure what the issue is, just that something doesn’t feel quite right. I have experience of working with people who have come from either angle, as well as somewhere in between.

As a queer woman with a mixed heritage background, I work in a way that looks at how the different identities you might hold can impact you. My preferred pronouns are she/her.

I am an integrative counsellor. This means I combine different types of therapy according to what you want from your sessions. My training is in person-centred, psychodynamic and gestalt therapy.

Areas I work in

anxiety / depression / low self esteem / shame / feeling lost / stress / sexual identity / gender identity / racial & cultural heritage / abuse / childhood abuse / sexual abuse / domestic abuse / relationship issues / bullying

My experience and training

I have worked as a counsellor at Bristol Mind and East London Out Project working with queer and queer questioning clients. And I have spent over 8 years working in the charity sector, which includes 5 years working as a Case Worker helping people impacted by crime.

I am a Level 7 Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I completed a BACP accredited MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy at University West of England.

I have an interest in how intersectionality is experienced and presented my research in this area at The International Conference of Autoethnography 2023.
